Frequently Asked Questions
Carpet Bonded Foam
Can I spray my mat with alcohol?
Alcohol can cause delamination if used excessively. Please do not use this method to clean your Carpet Bonded Foam.
What can I use to clean my CBF mats?
The best way to clean carpet bonded foam is to use a very mild detergent or light steam cleaning. It’s important to note that when using a steam cleaner, several quick passes is safer than focusing on one spot for too long.
If you use too high of a setting or move too slowly, you run the risk of melting the carpet fibers.
Will my order include Velcro?
You will receive one less roll of matching hook Velcro than the number of carpet bonded foam ordered. Our standard Velcro rolls are 42' x 4". Custom hook Velcro lengths are available upon request.
Does the flexible backing cost more than the non-flex?
Nope! Your cost per mat is the same regardless of backing type.
How do I install flat Carpet Bonded Foam?
- Gently unroll the mat with the carpet side down.
- Turn the roll over carefully (3-4 people is preferred to avoid creasing).
- Do not force the roll flat, allow it to naturally flatten. This may take a couple of hours.
- Position rolls to final install location.
- Use hook velcro to cover the seams.
Foam Cubes
How can I clean my cubes?
Wipe away dirt and debris. When necessary, spot clean small sections using warm water and a mild soap.
Avoid fully saturating the foam as by nature, urethane foam is porous and can hold water deep inside.
What if my foam cubes get wet?
You will need to lay the foam in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors and avoid using heat sources. You’ll need to allow the foam to dry completely to avoid the growth of microbial growth.Although our foam is generally considered mold resistant, it is not completely immune.
Is your foam fire retardant?
Our urethane foam products meet the minimum CAL 117 fire safety spec without any added FR chemicals.
If your state or fire marshal requires a more stringent fire safety spec like NFPA 701 or MVSS-302, you'll need to contact us and place a custom order.
Do you offer fire retardant foam that meets NFPA 701?
Yes! Although our standard pit foam does not include FR additives, we can supply FR foam. However, there are larger minimum order quantities.
The MOQ for FR foam blocks is 10,000 - 6" cubes or 4,500 - 8" cubes.
Can I buy a custom color?
Yes of course! We can color match most pantone colors. Please note there is a minimum order quantity for custom pit cube colors.
